How To Get Thor’s Hair? Short & Long Styles

When you think about Thor, needless to say, the first thing to come to mind is either his hammer or his flowing golden locks! The God of Thunder is one of the most popular superheroes around, and plenty of people want to emulate his look in their daily life.

With the new Thor: Love & Thunder film in cinemas, here's how to look like the titular character! We've broken down how to achieve both long and short-haired Thor looks - but we can't promise the same results as Chris Hemsworth.

How To Get Thor's Short Hair?

In Thor Ragnarok, Thor has his hair cut into an iconic, short and messy style. If you want to replicate this look, ask your barber for a 'textured crop'. You'll want your sides to be shaved to a 3 or 4, but not taken too high. Then the top should be trimmed with scissors to about 1.5 to 2 inches.

Because of how short this hairstyle is, it will work for most hair types. Chris Hemsworth's hair is quite thick, but straight. Because of that, the added texture is a must so it doesn't fall flat and lifelessly. If you also have straight hair, ask your barber to cut with layering, so you have a bit more volume to work with. You may need less or more texturing depending on how your hair behaves.

Lastly, if you really want to complete the look, ask the barber for two crude tracks that make a triangle over one temple. As far as products go, a light hold matte cream or styling power is perfect for this look. Most of the texture should be in the haircut itself, but good product helps keep it looking great all day long.

How To Get Thor’s Long Hair?

In the newest Thor: Love and Thunder film, Chris Hemsworth dons the long hair once again. This seems to be the longest his hair (well, wig) has ever been and rests a few inches past his shoulder or closer to his upper back. Long hair takes patience to grow, so if you want to look like the God of Thunder, you may be waiting for about two years, depending on how fast your hair grows. During this time, haircuts are still important to keep your ends healthy and looking good. Book in a trim every three months and cut off less than half an inch if your goal is to grow it out.

Thor's Shoulder Length Style

If you want to let your locks flow in the wind without worrying about all the braiding and tying, this is the look for you. In Thor's debut movie, his hair is the shortest we've seen it outside of Ragnarok. This is simply a textured shoulder-length cut that was trimmed just below the chin, so it never really rested on the shoulders. If you have a thicker hair type, you can pull this style off without much effort. If you want to add a bit of texture or volume, try a sea salt spray like the 100% natural Bearded Chap spray, which will give your hair a lot more structure and an effortless surfer vibe.

Braided Hair Thor

Braided hair is a staple of Thor’s look. He wears this style in: The Dark World, Avengers 2, the beginning of Ragnarok and most recently, Love And Thunder! This style can be a bit of work, but isn't too difficult if you're decent at braiding. Start by making two small braids off your right ear, one above and one behind it. Once your braids are done, gather all your top hair in a ponytail, but leave the bottom to fall over your shoulders. Tie your ponytail up with a long, thick cord or leather strap and tie it again a few inches down to make something that looks like a handle. Finally, make a few new braids in the lower part of your hair to fall over your shoulders.

Thor: Love and Thunder Hair

In Thor: Love and Thunder, it looks like he's done away with a few of the braids but maintained a similar style as above. His hair is much longer in this film and has a texture that can be achieved using sea salt spray. He's also pulled a strand of hair from his ponytail to fall across his face.

How To Grow Thor's Beard?

The hair on Chris Hemsworth's chin is just as majestic as that on his head. Thor rocks a stylish short beard in most films and a long braided beard in Avengers Infinity War.
